My Town Monday: A Foggy Day in San Clemente

In some parts of the country autumn means brilliant colors as the leaves change, but in Southern California, autumn at the beach means foggy mornings and sometimes foggy afternoons. This is the view from our house at about 10AM Sunday morning. Still, I'll take a cool, foggy day over a hot sunny one anytime, so don't think this is a complaint.

This will be an exceptionally short My Town Monday. My sciatica is still bothering me, so my online time will be limited this week. I apologize to my blogger friends in advance for not visiting as often as usual, but it hurts to sit for too long. I've set up the laptop on a chest of drawers so I can type standing up, but it's not connected to the internet.

Hope your week is going better than mine.

Linda

My Town Monday is the brilliant brain child of writer/blogger Travis Erwin, http://traviserwin.blogspot.com/. Thanks, Travis! Go to his blog to read his latest post and find links to the other participants.

We have fog here too today. I don't remember it this early in the fall.

I love the fog. I find the damp gray shroud as comforting as a warm blanket.

Hope you feel better soon.

We had fog here this morning also. I turned on my lights to drive to church and of course, forgot to turn them off and ran my battery dead.

Even though I'm further north, I haven't seen any leaves turning colour. No fog here, although sometimes early in the morning after a heavy rain overnight there is fog which burns off by mid-morning.

Take care of your back and get some rest.

We Southern Californians are spoiled when it come to weather. Right now it's raining and I'm thinking my trip to the grocery will have to wait to another day. Its a good day to stay in and write. And enjoy this change of seasons.

Looks like I'm not the only one who likes fog, though I hate to drive in it.

Junosmom, bummer about running down the battery. If I had a dollar for everytime I've done that...

We had fog, too, now it's cool and rainy--thanks to Hurricane Kyle. Hope you're feeling better.

Linda,
I'm so sorry you're in such pain. Does it help to know you burn more calories by standing (at the computer) than sitting? :-/

That fog reminds me of Nantucket Island, aka "The Gray Lady". We went there for a week one July and the fog never burned off. Never. Fog can be oppressive, but it can also be cozy, romantic and mysterious. Great atmosphere for creative writing, yes? :-)

We have some fog here occasionally, especially after the weather turns.

Hope you are feeling better soon from that painful condition.

We always have fog in Seattle at this time of year - and every other time of year. Hope you're feeling better soon.
